What are Conch Pearls? Conch (pronounced “konk”) pearls aren’t true pearls. Produced by the gastropod Strombus gigas, or Queen Conch, conch pearls have no nacre. Instead, they contain the mineral aragonite, the principal constituent of nacre, in a different configuration.
